Bluefins News

Our Monday Night Football CLinics have started!!!! We had at least 50 boys on the field last night!!! We will be holding 2 more Monday Nights, next Monday the 18th and the following Monday, the 25th, 5-7pm at Nauset Middle School.

Paperwork Night will be held Wednesday, July 20th from 5-8pm at Harwich Community Center- all outstanding paperwork will be collected at this time. Raffle tickets will be handed out as well.

July 27th we will be holding a Concussion Clinic which will be mandatory for our coaches and highly suggested for parents to attend. The program will run for 1 hour and will be given by a concussion specialist in our area.

Practice begins August 1 and will be held 4 nights per week- Monday-Thursday from 5-7:30. Please note practice will be ending a bit early on the evenings the Firebirds have a game to allow for overflow parking on the field area.

The mandatory football weigh-in will be August 27th- football players and their head coached will ride by bus to the official league weigh-in- every football player on every team in our league will be weighed in that day.
August 28th will be our pep rally/scrimmage jamboree/cookout- we will be hosting several teams for a scrimmage, pep rally by our cheerleaders followed by a cookout for all.

The schedule should be out soon, as soon as it is, we will post it!

 

Bluefins News

We will be holding 2 more registration nights- June 8th from 5-8pm at Harwich Community Center and June 16th from 5-8pm at the equipment trailer at Nauset Middle School. Children will be sized for their uniforms and equipment at that time. Please try and make it to one of these two nights or mail your registration in. We would like to make all equipment and uniform purchases early this year and we need your help in order to make this possible. We do not want to be scrambling for uniforms, equipment, etc in the first week of August once practice has started. We would like to have a pretty firm count of players and cheerleaders by the end of June so that everything will be ready to be distributed in July before practice begins.  Please help us out and get your registration forms in now!!! Get your medical forms filled out, get them to your pediatricians office and have them filled out now if your child has recently had a physical. If they have one coming up, bring the form with you!!!! Make a copy of your child’s report card as soon as you get it in June and get it to us, you can mail it to PO Box 415 South Harwich, MA 02661 if you think you may lose it!

Those football players that have registered, have all paperwork in and been sized for their equipment in June will be able to pick up their equipment during one of the Monday Night Football Clinics in July.

Speaking of which, we will be holding Monday Night Football Clinics starting July 11. Clinics will be held every Monday night in July- the 11th, 18th and 25th. Basic techniques will be taught which would be very helpful for our rookies this year. Registration for the clinics is not necessary, but we would like you to be registered for the 2011 season. There is no fee for the clinics, just show up at the Middle School on those nights, from 5:00-7:00pm.

We are looking for team sponsors for our football teams and cheerleading squads- we are a 501c3 non-profit- donations are tax deductible!!!! Sponsorship is a great way to help out our organization and get some advertising for your business. Football sponsors will have their name printed on the back of practice jerseys for the 2011 season and will be mentioned in our program book, at home games, etc

We are also looking for businesses to advertise in our program book- we would like to give Kellie Quinn who volunteers countless hours of her time to put together such a fabulous program book for the Bluefins a bit of a break by getting ads in early this year. 2011 Fitness and Introduction to Wrestling

Starting Tuesday May 17, 2011, all practice sessions will be at Nauset High School Gym from 5 – 7 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 14 sessions.  The cost of the sessions will be $100.00 for all sessions; or $10.00 per session paid the day of each session.  Wrestling Shoes suggested; head gear mandatory.  Olympia Sports stocks these at a reasonable price.

This will be a unique opportunity to train and to be coached by a recent national champion, Patrick Walsh, formerly from Division I Ohio State, 2007 New England Champion and 2008 National Prep School Heavy Weight Champion.
